UPPSC PCS cut off marks are officially announced by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). The UPPSC Cut off are released stage-wise and category-wise on the official website. UPPSC Cut Off Marks (Facts)

  • The UPPSC prelims cut-off marks are based on General Studies I only. The General Studies II or the CSAT paper is not counted for merit ranking and is only qualifying in nature. The GS II paper requires candidates to score at least 33% in it to be eligible for the mains.
  • The UPPSC cut off marks indicate the marks of the last candidate who was selected based on the number of vacancies in a particular category. The UPPSC releases the cut off marks for both Prelims and Mains only after the final result of the PCS Exam for that specific year is declared.
  • UPPSC considers the following factors to determine the PCS cut off marks.
    • A total number of vacancies for which the exam is being conducted.
    • A total number of applicants appeared in the exam.
    • The difficulty level of the exam.
    • Normalization process to maintain uniformity of the exam.
  • UPPSC PCS qualifying marks are mandatory for candidates to obtain in order to qualify in the examination. All such candidates who score less marks than the prescribed minimum score shall stand disqualified. The UPPSC PCS minimum qualifying marks are set as under:

  • The criteria for the resolution of tie cases is specifically mentioned by the commission and if there are any cases of tie i.e. in situations where two or more candidates have secured the same sum of marks, the needful will be done by the concerned authorities.
