- Bharatiya Prakritik Krishi Paddhati (BPKP) Scheme is launched by Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare during 2020-21
- Government is implementing this centrally sponsored scheme, Bhartiya Prakritik Krishi Padhati (BPKP) as a sub scheme of Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) since 2020-21 for the promotion of traditional indigenous practices.
- ‘Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana’ is a component of Soil Health Management (SHM) of National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
- Under PKVY Organic farming is promoted through the adoption of the organic village by cluster approach and PGS certification.
- ‘Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana’ is a component of Soil Health Management (SHM) of National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
- This scheme aims to promote Natural Farming and traditional indigenous practices.
- It mainly emphasizes on,
- Promoting traditional indigenous practices which reduce externally purchased inputs;
- Exclusion of all synthetic chemical inputs;
- Promoting on-farm biomass recycling with major stress on biomass mulching, use of cow dung-urine formulations, plant-based preparations and
- Time to time working of soil for aeration (periodic soil aeration).
- Under BPKP, financial assistance of Rs. 12200/ha for 3 years is provided for cluster formation, capacity building and continuous handholding by trained personnel, certification and residue analysis.
