It is one of the least political and most pragmatic trade-union federations in India. The HMS is affiliated with the\u00a0<strong>International Confederation of Free Trade Unions.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The HMS was founded\u00a0<strong>in Howrah in west Bengal on 29 December 1948<\/strong>, by socialists,\u00a0<strong>Forward Bloc followers and independent unionists<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its founders included\u00a0<strong>Basawon Singh (Sinha), Ashok Mehta, R.S. Ruikar, Maniben Kara, Shibnath Banerjee, R.A. Khedgikar, T.S. Ramanujam, V.S. Mathur, G.G. Mehta<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>R.S.
