His father Saluva Gunda was the governor of Chandragiri.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He ruled from\u00a0<strong>1486 to 1491 CE.<\/strong>\u00a0He o<strong>verthrew the last Sangama king<\/strong>\u00a0and established the Saluva dynasty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The majority of Saluva Narasimha Deva Raya\u2019s reign was devoted to moderately successful campaigns to subdue his vassals around the realm and the\u00a0<strong>sultan of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lotusarise.com\/bahmani-kingdom-upsc\/\">Bahmani Sultanate<\/a>\u00a0from 1463 to 1482.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During his reign, he successfully invaded Orissa and made their Gajapati Purushottam Deva to surrender.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He also made his brother Hamvira Deva surrender by besieging Kondavidu fort.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mahmud Gawan (1463-1482)<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mahmud Gawan was the Prime Minister of Muhammad Shah III, who was crowned Sultan at the age of 9.<\/strong>\u00a0Hence, the entire burden of the administration fell on his Prime Minister.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gawan was an Iranian trader who rose to the service of the Bahmani Sultan and was given the title of\u00a0<strong>Malik-ul-Tujjar.<\/strong>\u00a0He dominated the affairs of the Bahmani Kingdom for almost twenty years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He extended the Bahmani Kingdom by annexing control over Goa and Dabhol helped further expand the overseas trade with Iran and Iraq.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In an attempt to settle the northern frontier of the Bahmani Kingdom, Mahmud Gawan fought
