Rajya Sabha has equal powers with Lok Sabha in"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"mcq wp-block-list\">\n<li>the matter of creating new All India Services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>amending the Constitution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the removal of the government<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>making cut motions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>(b) amending the Constitution<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"equal-powers-of-rajya-sabha-in-relation-to-lok-sabha\">Equal powers of Rajya Sabha in relation to Lok Sabha<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the following matters, the powers of the Rajya Sabha are equal to that of the Lok Sabha:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Introduction and passage of ordinary bills, Constitutional amendment bills, and financial bills\u00a0<\/strong>involving expenditure from the Consolidated Fund of India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Election and\u00a0<strong>impeachment\u00a0of the President.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making recommendations to the President for the\u00a0<strong>removal\u00a0of the<\/strong>\u00a0Chief Justice and judges of the Supreme Court and High courts, Chief Election Commissioner, and\u00a0Comptroller and Auditor General.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Approval of\u00a0ordinances<\/strong>\u00a0and proclamation of\u00a0<strong>all three types of\u00a0emergencies<\/strong>\u00a0by the President.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Selection of ministers,<\/strong>\u00a0including the Prime Minister.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consideration of the\u00a0<strong>reports of the constitutional bodies<\/strong>\u00a0like the Finance Commission, Union Public Service Commission, Comptroller and Auditor General, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enlargement of the\u00a0<strong>jurisdiction of the Supreme Court\u00a0<\/strong>and the Union Public Service Commission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"special-powers-of-lok-sabha\">Special Powers of Lok Sabha<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A\u00a0money bill\u00a0can be introduced only in the Lok Sabha and not in the Rajya Sabha.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The final power to decide whether a particular bill is a money bill or not is vested in the\u00a0<strong>Speaker<\/strong>\u00a0of the Lok Sabha.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rajya Sabha cannot amend or reject a Money Bill.<\/strong>\u00a0It should return the bill to the Lok Sabha within 14 days, either with recommendations or without recommendations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Lok Sabha can either accept or reject\u00a0<\/strong>all or any of the recommendations of the Rajya Sabha. In both cases, the money bill is deemed to have been passed by the two Houses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A\u00a0<strong>financial bill<\/strong>, not containing solely the matters of Article 110, also can be introduced only in the Lok Sabha and not in the Rajya Sabha.
