According to this amendment, the\u00a0<strong>total number of ministers, including the Prime Minister, in the COM shall not exceed 15% of the total strength of the Lok Sabha<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This is mentioned in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lotusarise.com\/inshorts\/article-75-of-indian-constitution-upsc\/\">Article 75<\/a>(1A) of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lotusarise.com\/upsc-notes\/constitution-of-india\/\">Constitution<\/a>. The purpose of this amendment was to prevent an excessively large number of ministers in the government, which could lead to an unnecessary burden on the public exchequer and could also be seen as a means to create political patronage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-council-of-ministers\"><strong>The Council of Ministers<\/strong>:<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cabinet Ministers\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Many\u00a0<strong>senior ministers<\/strong>\u00a0occupy significant responsibilities like defence, home affairs, and education in the cabinet. A member of the executive branch of a government who has been nominated to the cabinet, which is made up of the prime minister\u2019s top policymakers, advisers, and overseers of government ministries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deputy Ministers<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0A deputy minister\u00a0<strong>works \u201cunder\u201d a minister<\/strong>, who is a full member of the Cabinet and is in charge of a specific standing policy portfolio, as well as overseeing a connected civil service department.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minister of State\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0A Minister of State is a\u00a0<strong>junior minister<\/strong>\u00a0in the Union Government\u2019s Council of Ministers who may\u00a0<strong>assist a cabinet minister or have independent charge\u00a0<\/strong>of a ministry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Which of the statements given above is\/are correct?
