The Bahmani Sultanate came to power in<strong> 1347<\/strong> during the Rebellion of Ismail Mukh after Ismail Mukh abdicated in favour of <strong>Zafar Khan<\/strong> (<strong>Hasan Gangu<\/strong>), who would establish the <a href=\"https:\/\/lotusarise.com\/bahmani-kingdom\/\">Bahmani Sultanate<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Bahmani capital was <strong>Ahsanabad (Gulbarga)<\/strong> between 1347 and 1425 when it was moved to <strong>Muhammadabad (Bidar)<\/strong>. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It was established in\u00a0present-day Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bahmani Sultanate was considered the <strong>first independent Islamic kingdom in south India<\/strong> during the medieval era.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Bahmani Sultanate was in perpetual war with its neighbors, including its rival, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lotusarise.com\/vijayanagar-empire\/\">Vijayanagara Empire<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Bahmani empire was considered a powerful kingdom for around 200 years. Until the battle between Krishnadeva Raya and the last ruler of the Bahmani Kingdom. Later Bahmani Sultanate was divided into <strong>5 distinguished states<\/strong>, which were collectively known as the<strong><strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lotusarise.com\/deccan-sultanates-upsc\/\">Deccan Sultanates<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There were a\u00a0total of fourteen sultans ruling over this kingdom.
