It was this committee that was entrusted with the task of preparing a draft of the new Constitution. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which\u00a0<strong>came into effect on 26th January 1950.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-constitution-day\">The Constitution Day<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas<\/strong>\u00a0is also known as\u00a0<strong>National Law Day.<\/strong>\u00a0The day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution in India.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India\u00a0<strong>formally adopted the Constitution of India that came into force on 26 January 1950.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment<\/strong>\u00a0on 19 November, 2015, notified the decision of the Government of India to celebrate 26 November as \u2018Constitution Day\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Facts about the Constitution of India:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The framing of the Constitution took over\u00a0<strong>2 years, 11 months and 18 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The original copies of the Indian Constitution\u00a0<strong>weren\u2019t typed or printed.
